Salves on our own

The more I stay disconnected from social media the more I get connected with myself.

One day I woke up prepared my coffee and I was rushing to my phone like usual to check those notifications, the likes the comments … these things that pop up in our phones which we got so addicted to that we don’t know anymore what normal is! what enjoying and living the current moment really means. That urge to post new things to people we don’t know and impress some others that we don’t even like! And that’s when I was wondering aren’t we already slaves of our own thoughts, and now this too ?!

Do we became slaves in a so called free world?

We are constantly thinking and overthinking, overdosed by countless images, information and thoughts, society will always imply to us what to do and what not to do. That’s in case you wanna feel included of course, and to feel that you are a part of something and not some kind of introvert. But you will always have the choice for sure, to care or not to care about it.

I know that being an introvert is totally normal but I'm saying it because this too is presented by society as a weird individual.

We are hunted by the past and obsessed with the future, but what about the present moment. the Now. we are surrounded by distractions everywhere and anywhere we go.. by some stupid habits and things that became necessities including social media for sure.

I’m guilty too just like you, each one of us looking for something on these platforms we have different reasons; whether it’s looking for fulfillment or feeling the need to share certain things of your life to attend a certain satisfaction that is related to validation, either it’s consciously or unconsciously.

After all, life is not black or white, but you can’t call it colorful either.it is actually what you make of it, so how you look at it matters a lot.‘DR Prem Jagayasi’.
